Seasonal tune up will be featuring Jem Krouse and Nick Dower. Jem and Nick both work at LGH in the holistic therapies department. Nick is an acupuncturist and Jem is a patient educator on wellness. I have attached the flyer that includes their bios.
In Chinese medicine, they believe in the concept of Wuxing also known as the five elements - earth, metal, water, wood, fire. These elements correspond to all aspects of life and with the seasons. Winter is the season of water and is characterized by stillness, cold, reflection, dormancy, and rest. The yoga poses associated with the season would be the "watery" poses like hip openers or restorative poses. In the 90 minute workshop, attendees with get an overview of the chinese philosophy of wuxing, then more details of the season water. There are seasonal practices associated with each element and Jem will lead them in a seasonal meditation and self care practices. Then they will be set up in a restorative pose and receive acupuncture from Nick. After we have some tea and discuss.
The cost is $30 for members and $35 for non-members
